The Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal saga has continued into the new year, with new revelations coming to light in the multi-million dollar 'It Ends With Us' lawsuit. The new court documents have the director alleging that his leading lady, Blake, tried to ‘set him up for a trap’.The new court documents obtained by TMZ have raised eyebrows over the private messages in which Baldoni shared his concerns with his then-agent, Danny Greenberg, describing a difficult time on set, while shooting an intimate scene. In the messages dated December 30, 2023, Baldoni wrote that he had a “really, really bad week” while working with Lively.

In the message, Baldoni claimed Lively had invited him to attend a meeting at her house alone, which made him uncomfortable. He further alleged that Lively had refused to use a body double for sex scenes. “That’s just setting me up for a trap,” Baldoni wrote, adding that the actress was insisting that a body double be used in his place.His texts seemed to indicate that Sony executives and producer Todd Black also intervened.

In another revelation come to light, the actor claimed that Lively also rejected his storyboards for the intimate scenes and pushed for both actors to remain 'fully clothed' during a key romantic moment.
“If you know the book, it’s just ridiculous,” Baldoni wrote.The message was sent five days before an “all-hands” meeting that saw Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, studio reps step in, and Lively reportedly presented a list of conditions and protections required before production could resume following the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.According to TMZ, Lively's team alleged that the messages were sent only after she detailed instances in which Baldoni and his business partner, Jamey Heath, created a 'hostile work environment' on set. The report stated that Baldoni at the time, had agreed to more than a dozen protections aimed at ensuring the safety of the cast and crew.

In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni and several of his associates, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation and seeking USD 160 million in damages. Baldoni has denied all allegations against him. The legal battle between the actress and the director is scheduled to be heard in court on January 22.
