George Clooney responds to Donald Trump’s comments about his family’s citizenship
George Clooney, concerning US President Donald Trump’s comments about him, made on December 31, gave his own statement in a quick reply. Talking to People, the actor replied to the president by saying, “I totally agree with the current president. We have to make America great again. We’ll start in November.”
In his comment, he directly referenced the upcoming midterm elections that are scheduled to happen in the US in November.

After it was announced that George Clooney and his wife, as well as his children, have obtained French citizenship, Trump took to his social media platform to share his thoughts about it. Other than calling the duo “two of the worst political prognosticators of all time,” he also referenced to Clooney’s July 2024 op-ed in The New York Times.
The president’s post read, “Remember when Clooney, after the now infamous debate, dumped Joe during a fundraiser, only to go onto the side of another stellar candidate, Jamala(K!), who is now fighting it out with the worst governor in the Country, including Tim Waltz, Gavin Newscum, for who is going to lead the Democrats to their future defeat.”
George Clooney joins the long list of celebrities who have called out Donald Trump against his actions taken during his second presidential term. Earlier last year, the White House had uploaded a video of ICE agents arresting and capturing people of colour, with a Sabrina Carpenter song playing in the background. The singer had quickly taken action, and had posted on her account about how they should not use her music without consent and that she does not condone whatever is being shown in the video.
