'Black Widow' to 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness': Upcoming Marvel movies with new release dates

With the world of entertainment returning to normalcy, fans will soon be able to step into the theatres to watch their favourite characters on the big screen. But it looks like MCU fans will have to wait a little longer as Marvel Studios has decided to reschedule the release of its films from Phase 4.

Christopher Nolan's 'Tenet' which released a few weeks back received an underwhelming response at the box office due to which MCU has decided to push the release of its upcoming projects to a later date. Scarlett Johansson's 'Black Widow' is one of the first films of MCU's Phase 4 to be released but looks like fans will have to wait till next year now. According to the latest reports, the film which rumoured to be set between the events of 'Captain America: Civil War' and 'Avengers: Infinity War' has been pushed to 7th May 2021. Johansson, who essays the lead role of Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow will be joined by Rachel Weisz, David Harbour, Florence Pugh and others in the Cate Shortland directorial.

Marvel's first film with an Asian lead 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' has also been shifted from 7th May 2021 to 9th July 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The film which is helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton will star Simu Liu and Tony Leung in pivotal roles. The had gone on floors in February this year but the shoot was halted due to the pandemic.

Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige's most ambitious project 'Eternals' has been delayed for the third time. The multi-starrer was initially scheduled to release on 6th November 2020 but was later pushed to 12th February 2021. Now, according to the latest reports, the film has been shifted to 5th November next year. 'Eternals' is touted as one of Marvel's next huge release post 'Avengers' as it stars the likes of Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Kit Harington and others.

Tom Holland's last solo ride as Spider-Man in MCU has also been delayed. After a fallout, Sony and Marvel agreed for another Spider-Man project but looks like fans will have to wait for it. While the original plan was to release the film on 16th July 2021 as part of Marvel's Phase 4, the film will now be released on 17th December next year.

The much-awaited Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen starrer 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' will now release in 2022. The film which was slated to hit the theatres on 5th November 2021 will now be releasing on 25th March 2022. While Cumberbatch will be reprising his role from the 2016 prequel, Olsen will be essaying the role of Scarlet Witch.
