Ariel Winter moves in with 'Modern Family' co-star Nolan Gould after splitting from Luke Benward: 'Real roommates now'

Ariel Winter has confirmed that she is living with her ‘Modern Family’ co-star Nolan Gould, four days after announcing her breakup with long-term boyfriend Luke Benward. Winter played Alex Dunphy on the hit sitcom, while Gould played her younger brother, Luke Dunphy. The actor said the new living arrangement has turned their onscreen sibling bond into a real-life roommate setup in Los Angeles, years after the show ended.In an interview with PEOPLE, Winter said she rented a house with Gould after spending more time in Los Angeles. She had been living with Benward in Nashville since 2022 before their split.“It’s funny because I spend more time out here now and I rent a house with Nolan. People ask me about a Modern Family reboot, but Nolan and I are real roommates now,” Winter said.She added, “It’s like we’re having our own little Modern Family reboot, but it’s just the two of us living together. So I see him every day.”Winter also said their new routine has brought back the easy fun they shared while working together on the show. She said the two often spend quiet nights watching television.“I’m not gonna lie, when we sit there at night and we watch, like, Temptation Island together, it’s pretty hilarious,” she said.Winter said she and Gould have even thought about sharing parts of their roommate life online. “So we have thought about [sharing] it. We’re just like, ‘People would find this really funny.’”The update comes as Winter moves through a new phase after her breakup with Benward. Her bond with Gould also adds to the long history of close friendships among the ‘Modern Family’ cast.Winter has earlier spoken about her ties with co-stars Julie Bowen, Sofía Vergara and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. “We really were like a real family,” she had said.The cast has supported one another outside work as well. In 2022, Ferguson, who played Mitchell Pritchett, officiated the wedding of his onscreen niece Sarah Hyland, who played Haley Dunphy. Winter, Vergara and Bowen also attended the ceremony.Winter also received support from cast members during her public estrangement and legal emancipation from her mother. Reports have said Bowen, who played her onscreen mother, helped her leave an abusive home.
