Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle’s popular Bhojpuri songs

Asha Bhosle is best known as a playback singer in Hindi cinema. She started her career in 1943 and has a career spanning over six decades. Since then she has sung songs in over thousands of Bollywood movies. Bhosle is the sister of popular playback singer Lata Mangeshkar. Ashaji has sung film songs, pop, ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis and Rabindra Sangeets. 'Jab Hum Jaai Naiharwan'

‘Sajanwa Bairi Bhaile Hamar’ album's song ‘Jab Hum Jaai Naiharwan’ was sung by Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle. The song was penned by Sameer and composed by Chitragupt. Ashaji has also performed in numerous solo concerts in India and abroad and recorded several private albums. As per the report, in 2006, she stated that she has sung over 12,000 songs. Her father was an actor and classical singer on Marathi musical stage.

'Chaand Suroj Ke Lajaweli'

In 1966, Asha Bhosle sang a song ‘Chaand Suroj Ke Lajaweli’ in Bhojpuri film ‘Mitwa’. The song was written by Shailendra and music was given by C. Ramchandra. Asha even made her debut as an actress in 2013 in the film ‘Mai’ and received great feedback for her performance. She sang her first song ‘Chala Chala Nav Bala’ for the Marathi film ‘Majha Bal’ in 1943. The music of the film ‘Majha Bal’ was composed by Data Davjeka.

'Baari Umariya Larikaiyaan Gawanwa'

'Baari Umariya Larikaiyaan Gawanwa' song was in the Bhojpuri film ‘Balam Pardesiya’ which was released in 1979. Asha Bhosle gave her melodious voice to the song that was penned by Anjaan. The music of the song was composed by Chitragupt. Asha and her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar began singing and acting in films to support their family. In 1948, she made her debut in Hindi films and sung ‘Saawan Aaya’ for the film ‘Chunariya’.

'Gorki Patarki Re'

Asha Bhosle sang a song ‘Gorki Patarki Re’ with Mohammed Rafi for the Bhojpuri album ‘Balam Pardesiya’. Asha’s first solo Hindi film song was for the movie ‘Raat Ki Raani’ in 1949. During the 1950s, Ashaji was one of the most sought-after playback singers in Bollywood. Apart from Lata Mangeshkar, her other sister Meena Mangeshkar and brother, Hridaynath Mangeshkar are music directors.

'More Hothwa Se Nathuniya'

The song ‘More Hothwa Se Nathuniya’ was in the Bhojpuri film ‘Dangal’ released in 1977, sung by Asha Bhosle. The film had a star cast including Sujit Kumar, Premanarayana, Ramsinha, Iftikhar, Urmila Bhatt, Hari Shukla and Shubha Khote. Laxmi Chhaya performed a dance on the song in the film. Music of the song was composed by Nadeem-Shravan. The film was directed by Rati Kumar and produced by Bachubhai shah.
