When Raima Sen met a ghost during Phool Pishi O Edward!
A quiet hotel room. A long day of shooting. And a whisper of a rumour—there might be a ghost here. That’s all it took for Raima Sen to step straight into a real-life thriller while shooting for Phool Pishi O Edward.
Raima, who plays the enigmatic Aditi — the second wife of zamindar Manindra Chandra Nandy — found herself in a situation that mirrored the mystery of her character, only far more… entertaining.
It began during an outdoor schedule, when the cast was put up in a hotel. A casual remark from a colleague set the tone: the hotel, she said, might be haunted. Harmless banter for most — but for Raima, it planted just enough doubt. What followed was a night she wouldn’t forget in a hurry.
“It actually turned out to be quite a funny experience! Hina had told me there might be a ghost in the hotel we were staying in, so of course, the moment I walked into my room, I was convinced there was one. All night, I kept hearing voices — it genuinely sounded like some kind of party — and I couldn’t sleep at all. The next morning, I went straight to Shiboprosad (Mukherjee) and Nandita di (Roy), telling them there was definitely a ghost in my room! I was absolutely certain someone was whispering around me. They kept insisting there was no one, but I refused to believe it — something strange was clearly going on. Finally, Nandita di explained that the noise was actually coming from the room next to mine — someone had the TV on, and the sound was carrying through the walls. And that’s when I discovered my ‘ghost’… it was actually Shaheb's (Chatterjee) next door, quite obviously having a full-blown party!,” said Raima.
