Boiragi announced as music-driven romance with newcomers

After Ranna Baati, director Pratim D. Gupta is all geared up to start Boiragi . Touted as a large-scale theatrical venture, the film has been conceived as a sweeping, music-driven romance rooted in youthful emotion, desire, and restlessness, aiming to connect with a new generation of Bengali cinema-goers.In a first-of-its-kind move for the industry, the makers have announced that both the male and female leads of Boiragi will be selected entirely through open auditions. Newcomers will be shortlisted on a massive scale, with auditions scheduled to take place in Kolkata soon. Calling the decision bold and future-oriented, Pratim said that every era of cinema needs its own stars, and Boiragi seeks to discover fresh performers who feel “contemporary, fearless, and emotionally honest”.
