PM didn’t omit details of Gujarat property in poll affidavits: BJP
NEW DELHI: Congress accused PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday of omitting details about a
Congress said Modi was “hiding something” and urged EC to take cognisance of it. AICC spokesman Pawan Khera alleged Modi, after assuming chief ministership of Gujarat in 2001, mentioned himself as the “sole” owner of the property, “Plot 411”— in sector 1 in Gandhinagar. He said Modi had mentioned that he had spent Rs 30,363 on construction on the said plot. BJP responded by saying the plot in question is PM’s only asset. “Four plots purchased by four different persons were amalgamated into one on 25.04.2008. The number of the amalgamated plot is different from the separate individual numbers,” BJP said.
Congress claimed the plot is worth Rs 1.18 crore as per the prevailing rates. Khera alleged that Modi omitted the said plot from his list of assets in subsequent affidavits and instead mentioned “Plot 401/A” of the same size on same location.
