alse propaganda is the only weapon available with DMK, said
Tamil Nadu chief minister and
AIADMK general secretary J Jayalaithaa on Sunday rebutting charges of
DMK leaders that none of the announcements made by her under Rule 110 of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Rules were fulfilled.
Listing out the announcements made by her in the state assembly under the rule which have been implemented,
Jayalalithaa said in statement that some of the announcements could be implemented immediately but a few would take time for fruition.
Reeling out statistics, Jayalalithaa said 12 announcements made by her related to school education department in 2011 – 12 were implemented in the same year while 23 more were implemented in the following three years.
According to the statement, 100 high schools, 65 primary schools and 710 middles schools were upgraded to the next level and as many as 3,745 teachers were appointed in 2011 – 12. Ten more announcements made in 2015 – 16 were at various stages of implementation she said.
In a similar manner, several announcements made regarding higher education department and rural development departments during the last five years were also implemented, she said.
Jayalalithaa said DMK men were levelling the same charge during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
“People gave a severe blow to DMK for the false propaganda during the Lok Sabha elections. However, they continued to raise the same issue in the assembly too. A detailed explanation was given in the assembly. Still, they are resorting to false campaign,’’ she alleged.
