TN HSC Result 2026: Scores to be announced at 9:30 am today
More than eight lakh students are waiting for the TN HSC Result 2026, which will be declared at 9:30 am. Candidates can check their marks online using their registration number and date of birth. The Tamil Nadu school education department has arranged multiple platforms for result access, including official websites, DigiLocker, SMS and WhatsApp services to reduce traffic and delays during the announcement.
TN HSC result 2026 out: More than 8 lakh students await Class 12 scores
The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced the TN HSC Result 2026 for Class 12 students. More than eight lakh students who appeared for the Higher Secondary Certificate examinations can now check their scores through official websites, DigiLocker, SMS and WhatsApp services.
To access the marks online, students must enter their registration number and date of birth on the official portals. Schools across the state have also received the result details for enrolled students.
Previous year pass percentage
Last year, a total of 7,92,494 students appeared for the Tamil Nadu Class 12 examinations. The overall pass percentage stood at 95.03%. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 96.70%, while boys secured 93.16%.
The TN HSC examinations for 2026 were conducted from March 2 to March 26, 2026. The department is expected to release detailed statistics, including stream-wise and district-wise performance data, separately.

Students can also download their digital marksheets through results.digilocker.gov.in.
SMS and WhatsApp facility for students
The department has also arranged SMS services to help students receive their marks without delays caused by heavy traffic on websites. Result details will be sent to the mobile numbers submitted by students in their undertaking forms at schools.
Students can additionally access their scores through WhatsApp by sending a ‘Hi’ message to 7845252525. After initiating the chat, candidates must provide details including class, registration number and date of birth. The service has been introduced with support from the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency.
Passing marks and re-totalling process
To pass the TN HSC examination, students must secure at least 35 marks per subject in theory papers. For subjects with practical examinations, candidates need a minimum of 15 marks in theory and an aggregate of 35 marks, including practical and internal assessment scores.
The marking structure for practical subjects includes 70 marks for theory, 20 marks for practical examinations and 10 marks for internal assessment. Attendance in practical examinations is compulsory.
Students who wish to apply for re-totalling can do so after the result declaration. The fee for re-totalling has been fixed at Rs 205 per subject. The application schedule will be announced separately.
Parents and students seeking counselling or result-related assistance can contact the helpline numbers 14417, 104 and 14416.
