SSC CGL 2025: Commission updates disability categories allowed for recruitment posts, check notice
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a corrigendum for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2025, revising the list of permissible benchmark disabilities for several posts. The correction relates to Annexure-V of the original CGL 2025 notification, which was published earlier on June 9, 2025. The commission released the corrigendum on March 5, 2026 on its official website.
According to the notice, the table in Annexure-V that specifies disability categories allowed for different posts has been modified. The revision has been made under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016. Candidates applying under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) category are advised to check the updated list carefully before choosing their post preferences.

The annexure has been updated with a list of different types of disabilities that are deemed appropriate for the various posts advertised in the SSC CGL 2025 recruitment. Some of the posts advertised are Assistant Section Officer, Inspector, Auditor, Accountant, Upper Division Clerk, Junior Accountant, Executive Assistant, and Research Assistant.
For each post, the commission has specified the functional requirements and the disability categories that are eligible. The list includes categories such as blindness, low vision, deaf, hard of hearing, locomotor disabilities, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, acid attack victims, muscular dystrophy, specific learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, and mental illness. Multiple disabilities involving the listed categories are also included for certain posts.
The corrigendum also identifies the functional abilities required for each job role. These include activities such as sitting, standing, walking, reading and writing, seeing, hearing, communication, bending, and manipulation by fingers.
Corrigendum also explains that some posts have not been identified for PwD candidates. These posts include the post of Assistant Enforcement Officer in the Directorate of Enforcement, Sub-Inspector in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Sub-Inspector in the National Investigation Agency.
Candidates applying for SSC CGL 2025 are advised to refer to the revised Annexure-V provided in the corrigendum. The updated table replaces the earlier version published in the original notification. Applicants belonging to the PwD category should review the revised eligibility conditions before finalising their post preferences during the recruitment process.
