NEET UG 2026: NMC asks medical colleges to not grant students leaves on May 2 and 3; here's why
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice asking all medical colleges not to grant leave to students on May 2 and May 3.
In the notice dated April 23, the NMC shared a letter from the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is conducting NEET UG 2026 across the country.
In the letter, the commission directed all medical colleges and institutions to stay alert and sensitise students against any involvement in activities that may affect the sanctity of the examination. NEET UG is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026.
The move follows past instances where certain students were found engaging in actions that compromised exam integrity, the notification said.
NEET UG, is India's primary, mandatory national-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS), and AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, etc.) courses in government and private institutions.
While the city intimation slip only specifies the allotted exam city, the admit card, soon to be released, will carry complete details, including the exam centre and other important instructions required for candidates to appear in the test.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the NEET UG 2026 admit card will be released on April 26, 2026.
