The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow has announced the launch of its Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics programme for higher secondary graduates. The new undergraduate offering introduces a pathway that allows students to move into a Tech-MBA programme, scheduled to begin in 2027-28, after successfully completing the third year of study.
The institute has opened applications for the inaugural batch comprising 60 seats. Admissions will be based on academic performance and JEE Advanced qualification. Candidates who completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination in 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects and have qualified JEE Advanced are eligible to apply.
Application schedule and admission processApplications opened on June 4, 2026, and will remain available until July 3, 2026, at 11.59 pm. The first admission list is scheduled to be released on July 10, followed by a second list on July 23 and a third list on August 3 if required. Reporting and registration are scheduled for August 17, while classes will commence on August 18.
According to the institute, students completing three years of the BS programme may be considered for transition into the proposed Tech-MBA programme, creating an integrated dual-degree academic pathway.
A relaxation of 5 per cent in qualifying marks will be available to candidates belonging to SC and ST categories in accordance with Government of India norms.
Curriculum combines technology and managementThe programme integrates artificial intelligence, machine learning, data engineering, analytics and responsible AI with business and management education. The curriculum includes areas such as data warehousing, data structures and algorithms, big data computing, cloud computing, computer vision, deep learning, machine learning deployment, business analytics and data visualisation.
Students will also have access to the institute’s AI ecosystem, including specialised laboratories focused on business intelligence, linguistics, computer vision, digital transformation and social AI.
Focus on future-ready skillsIIM Lucknow stated that the programme has been designed to prepare students for emerging roles across sectors including technology, consulting, financial services, e-commerce, healthcare, manufacturing and public sector organisations.
Potential career pathways identified by the institute include AI Engineer, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Business Analyst, Product Analyst and Analytics Consultant. The programme aims to combine technical expertise with management education, supported by the institute’s industry engagement and corporate network.
The BS in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics programme was launched earlier this year by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and marks IIM Lucknow’s entry into undergraduate education focused on AI and analytics.
