CUET UG 2026: NTA reopens city allocation window for unaccommodated candidates; check details here
CUET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reopened the city reallocation window for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026. It has been opened to offer relief to the candidates who were not accommodated in their preferred exam cities due to capacity constraints.
In its official notice, the agency stated that of the 15,68,866 candidates registered, 96.6% were allotted one of their preferred cities, while 79% secured their first choice. Nevertheless, 3.4% of applicants were unable to fit into their chosen preferences because of high demands at particular venues.
Such applicants have the opportunity to choose seats from other cities by using a reallocating facility on the CUET website. The whole process shall be carried out on a first come, first served basis without much room for delay.
The NTA has clearly advised that candidates who qualify for reallocations must register without further delay. With first-come-first-serve basis for allocation, any delay might lead to fewer choices.
Furthermore, candidates are required to confirm their admit card details such as city, center, date, and time shift, and also make necessary travel plans in advance, especially when there is a reallocation.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made it clear that the reallocation process is time-sensitive and strictly first-come, first-served. Candidates seeking a change in their allotted exam city must act quickly. Here’s how to apply:
Aspirants are advised to stay tuned to the official website to get the complete details of the CUET UG recruitment process 2026.
