CTET February 2026 exams to be held on February 7 and 8; CBSE releases complete schedule

The Central Board of Secondary Education has modified the examination dates for the February 2026 series of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. As per the latest public notice, the CTET exam will be held over two days instead of one due to a substantial increase in the number of candidates registered for the test.The board has stated that the 21st series of CTET that was initially supposed to be on February 8, 2026, will now be conducted on February 7 and 8, 2026. The reason for this change is to allow the exam centers around the country to be better prepared for the smooth conduct of the exam.Revised CTET Exam DatesThe CBSE has issued a revised notice in which it is mentioned that the CTET exam will be held in two sessions daily running both Paper I and Paper II. The exam will be conducted in 140 cities all over the country. Candidates have been asked to verify their admit cards for the date, paper, and timing allocated to them.The CBSE has requested that candidates get to their examination centers at least one hour before the commencement of the examination because no candidate will be permitted inside the examination center once the examination has started.Application process and one-time facilityThe online application process for the CTET exam in February 2026 started on November 27, 2025, and ended on December 18, 2025. A total of 25,30,581 candidates successfully submitted their applications. However, the board received complaints from candidates who were unable to submit their applications.After scrutiny, CBSE found that 1,61,127 candidates had incomplete registrations. Considering the sympathetic approach, the board provided a one-time facility for such candidates to submit their applications. This facility was available from December 27, 2025, to December 30, 2025. No new registrations were allowed during this time, and there was no further opportunity for correction.About CTETCTET is a compulsory eligibility qualification exam for teachers of Classes I to VIII, as per the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. The exam is conducted by CBSE on behalf of the Ministry of Education.
