Vespa 946 horse edition scooter revealed: Here's what's special
Italian automobile manufacturer Vespa has revealed new Vespa 946 Horse Edition scooter globally. The Italian brand has a long history of releasing special 946 editions, often drawing inspiration from the Chinese Zodiac. With 2026 marking the Year of the Horse. This edition is positioned more as a collector’s piece than an everyday commuter. While the unmistakable 946 shape remains intact, the Horse variant stands apart with exclusive styling updates that set it apart from the standard model. The new horse-themed editions of the Vespa 946 will be produced in limited numbers; the brand has stopped short of revealing exactly how many units will be made. And the bookings are live on Vespa’s official website.

What sets the Vespa 946 Horse apart is its distinctive ‘bay’ paint finish, a rich brown hue inspired by the sheen of a horse’s dark coat. The scooter features steel body panels with a mix of gloss and matte surfaces, complemented by several bespoke design elements. The leather seat is handcrafted and draws inspiration from equestrian gear, complete with a V emblem embossed within a horseshoe motif beneath it.
The horse theme extends further with premium leather detailing on the handlebar grips and rear-view mirrors.

Vespa is also offering a range of matching accessories for this edition, including a compact rear bag crafted from the same leather as the seat, a lightly tinted windshield, and a colour-coordinated three-quarter helmet finished with a 3D gold V logo. On the mechanical front, the 946 Horse is largely unchanged from the standard scooter. It is likely to carry over the same 125cc single-cylinder motor, delivering roughly 11.4 bhp, along with an unchanged suspension and braking package from previous versions.
