CBSE releases Class 10 second board exam 2026 LOC submission deadlines and key guidelines
CBSE 2nd Board exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the examination schedule and guidelines for the Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026, marking the beginning of the two-board examination policy initiated by the board. The new policy allows students to retake examinations in up to three subjects, with the examinations set to take place in May 2026.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has adopted a systematic approach in the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) and the payment of examination fees in the implementation of the new two-board examination policy. The first phase in the submission of the LOC will be from March 18 to 31, 2026, while the payment of examination fees for the first phase of the examination must be done within five days of the declaration of the examination results.
For the first time, LOC submission will be carried out exclusively by schools. Principals must verify all details and submit accurate student information on time. Individual submissions by students will not be accepted. CBSE has urged school authorities to clearly communicate eligibility criteria, applicable subjects, submission deadlines, and fee schedules to avoid last-minute confusion.
Candidates must mark the important dates for the CBSE 2nd Board exam 2026:
The board has also cautioned that the second board examination must be restricted to those students in need of performance improvement. Otherwise, the examination would be discouraged. It has also been suggested that the LOC be filled as early as possible, thereby aiding in the logistical planning of the examination centers and the subjects.
Students falling in the compartment category after the main examination would be required to fill in the LOC once again. The combinations may differ in these cases as well. It has also been emphasized by the CBSE that the entire process must be done in accordance with the deadline, with access to the system ending at 11:59:59 PM on the last day of the phase.
It must be noted that this well-thought-out plan by the CBSE is an attempt to provide the students with an opportunity to clear the examination once again in the first year of the implementation of the two-board examination policy itself.
