CBSE postpones Class 12 board exams from March 12-16 in Middle East countries; new dates to be announced later
CBSE board exams 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class 12 board examinations scheduled between March 12 and March 16, 2026 in several Middle East countries. The decision has been taken due to the current situation in parts of the Middle East region, according to an official notice which was issued today, March 9, 2026.
The board stated that the affected countries include Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools in these regions will not have to appear for the exams scheduled during this period.
In its notice, the CBSE)said that the decision was taken after reviewing the situation in the Middle East. As a precautionary measure, all Class 12 board examinations scheduled from March 12, 2026 (Thursday) to March 16, 2026 (Monday) have been postponed.
The board clarified that new examination dates will be announced later after reviewing the situation.
CBSE has said that it will review the situation on March 14, 2026 (Saturday). After the review, the board will take a decision regarding the remaining examinations scheduled from March 16 onwards.
Further updates regarding the revised schedule will be shared through official announcements, according to the official notice.
The board has advised all Class 12 students in the affected Middle East regions to stay in regular contact with their respective schools for the latest updates.
Students are also advised to follow official CBSE notifications carefully and wait for further instructions regarding the revised examination schedule.
