CBSE again extends deadline for obtaining Class 12 scanned answer sheets till May 25; check official notice
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has once again extended the deadline for Class 12 students to apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets. Students can now submit their applications till midnight of May 25, 2026. Earlier, the last date was May 24.
In an official notice, the board said the deadline has been extended to give students “sufficient time” to apply for the facility. CBSE also asked students to make use of the additional time and complete the process within the revised schedule.
The board clarified that all other rules, terms, and conditions related to the facility will remain unchanged.
CBSE further informed that the dates for applying for re-evaluation will be announced separately soon. According to the notice, the re-evaluation portal will remain open for at least two days after the last scanned copy of the evaluated answer book is made available to students.
Students who wish to obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer books can follow these steps:
CBSE has fixed the fee for obtaining scanned answer sheets at ₹100 per subject. The amount has been reduced significantly from the earlier ₹700 fee, making the process more affordable for students.
Meanwhile, the Union Education Ministry has directed CBSE to improve its payment gateway and re-evaluation systems after many students reported failed payments, duplicate deductions, and portal crashes during post-result services.
Following discussions between Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, four public sector banks — State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank — have been asked to strengthen the payment infrastructure for smoother transactions.
Experts from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) are also helping CBSE fix technical issues related to server performance, login access, and portal stability.
The move is aimed at creating a more reliable and student-friendly system for handling post-result services such as verification of marks, re-evaluation, and obtaining scanned answer sheets.
