ACB traps RI while taking Rs 2,000 bribe

Eluru: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) nabbed a revenue inspector while accepting a bribe of Rs 2, 000 from a farmer at Chagallu in West Godavari district on Tuesday.

According to K Sudhakar Rao, deputy superintendent of police (DSP), ACB, Eluru range, Ainam Durga Prasad, a farmer from S Muppavaram had applied for Pattadar passbook for the land owned by his mother.

Chagallu revenue inspector Gadi Subba Rao demanded Rs 2,000 to sanction the Pattadar passbook. Prasad approached ACB officials and complained against the revenue inspector. On Tuesday morning, Prasad met Subba Rao in his office at the behest of ACB and gave him Rs 2, 000.

ACB DSP Sudhakar Rao and team recovered the tainted amount from the revenue inspector will produce him before the court.
