War of words grows over alleged sleaze videos of TTD chairman

Tirupati: The war of words between Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) former chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and present TTD chief BR Naidu intensified after videos of Naidu went viral on various social media platforms on Saturday night.Addressing a press conference at the YSRCP central party office at Tadepalli on Sunday, Bhumana alleged that BR Naidu brought disrepute to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams after his alleged sleaze videos with a woman went viral on various social media platforms. "Never in the 94-year-old history of the TTD, and even before, when the temple management was under the control of kings and emperors, did such an accusation surface on the chief of the Devasthanams," the former TTD chief said.
Recalling instances of former governor ND Tiwari stepping down from his official position after his alleged sleaze videos surfaced, and the instance of actor Prudvi being stripped of his post after his alleged obscene audio clips surfaced during the YSRCP regime, Bhumana demanded Naidu immediately step down from the TTD chairmanship on moral grounds.Responding to the allegations that surfaced against him during a press conference held in Tirupati on Sunday afternoon, Naidu squarely dismissed the accusations as false and baseless."The woman and her family in the video are my family friends for 30 years, and our Shirdi visit-related videos and other videos were morphed and made viral on various social media platforms with a malafide intention to tarnish my reputation. Have you found anything obscene in the videos being circulated?" the TTD chief questioned.Accusing Bhumana of seeking his resignation from the very first day he assumed office as the TTD chairman, Naidu alleged that Bhumana was desperately levelling false accusations against him, as he was continuously unearthing alleged scams reported during Bhumana's and YV Subba Reddy's tenures as TTD chairmen during the YSRCP regime.Reiterating that he did nothing wrong to bring disrepute to the TTD and the state govt, Naidu stated that he will lodge a formal police complaint to expose the conspiracy hatched against him in the "false sleaze propaganda" unleashed against him.
