Visakhapatnam Port Authority handles 80 MMT cargo in record 327 days

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Port Authority has achieved a historic milestone by handling 80 million metric tonnes (80,082,108 MT) of cargo in just 327 days on Feb 21 during the ongoing financial year, marking the fastest-ever attainment of 80 MMT in the port's 92-year history. This surpasses previous records of 80.11 MMT in 357 days during FY 2024-25 and 80.02 MMT in 362 days during FY 2023–24. According to the VPA officials, the achievement reflects VPA's operational excellence, enhanced efficiency, strong stakeholder coordination, and sustained growth momentum in cargo handling, demonstrating the port's continued commitment to ambitious targets and robust performance.
