Three die of electrocution

VIJAYAWADA

: In a tragic incident, three men died of

electrocution

while four others suffered injuries after their bullock cart transporting

Durga idol

came in contact with a live wire at Uppalapadu village in Guntur district on Tuesday night. The deceased were identified as Kakunuru Satyanarayana (29), Kamineni Venkateswarlu (55) and Charaka Galaiah (40).


Veldurthy sub-inspector Kanakaiah said that the incident took place around 12.30am when villagers were taking out a procession with the idol. When the cart was being decorated with lights, a 6.3 kV livewire fell on the cart killing the three and injuring four others.
