Parliament Winter Session Live: TMC to raise 'people's issues' in winter session, Adani case not on agenda
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has emphasized its focus on "people's issues" during the ongoing winter session of Parliament, distancing itself from single-issue disruptions, such as the Congress's focus on the Gautam Adani bribery and fraud case in the US. TMC's deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, stated that the party aims to raise concerns such as the deprivation of central funds to West Bengal and the ongoing crisis in Manipur.
Dastidar reiterated that the TMC wants Parliament to function effectively, criticizing disruptions that hinder accountability on broader governance failures. While the party remains a part of the opposition's INDIA bloc at the national level, it maintains an independent outlook and is not part of an electoral alliance within the bloc.
These remarks come as proceedings in both Houses have been disrupted for two consecutive days over the Adani issue, leading to adjournments and limited business being conducted.
