RTC bus catches fire after contact with power lines in Kadapa
Tirupati: An APSRTC Palle Velugu bus was gutted down in a fire accident after it came in contact with low-lying electric high-tension cables near Veerannagattu Palle in Vempalle mandal of Kadapa district on Sunday. There were 22 passengers inside the bus when the incident took place. According to the Vempalle police, the bus was heading to Vempalle from Kadiri in Sri Sathya Sai district on Sunday. The passengers on the bus noticed a fire and alerted the driver, who promptly evacuated everyone to safety. The local police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot with fire tenders and doused the flames.The RTC bus was partially gutted in the fire accident. The passengers, who heaved a big sigh of relief, took other alternate commute options to continue their journey.
