Vijayawada: A realtor has been kidnapped in
Tirupati after a suspected dispute over a high-value land transaction linked to a red sanders venture, police have said.
According to the SV University police, Rasool, a resident of Seethamma Nagar, was allegedly kidnapped on the evening of May 30 from near Nandakam tea shop in the area. According to a complaint filed by Rasool’s brother Pradeep, who is a retired assistant sub-inspector of police, the kidnapping is suspected to be linked to financial transactions made as part of the purchase of a venture reportedly containing valuable red sanders trees. The property was allegedly acquired for several crores, and disputes over monetary dealings are suspected to have triggered the abduction, police said.
In his complaint, Pradeep has accused four persons from Kadapa district — Manohar Reddy, Khaja Peer, Subba Reddy, and Shivakumar — of being involved in the kidnapping. Based on the complaint, SV University police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Police sources said efforts are underway to verify the allegations, gather evidence, and track the whereabouts of the missing businessman. Investigators are also examining the financial background of the disputed real estate deal and the sequence of events leading up to the alleged kidnapping. Special teams have been formed to rescue Rasool from the kidnappers.
