Tirupati: A private travel bus heading to Anantapur from Hyderabad turned turtle near Vannedoddi village in Gooty mandal at Anantapur district on Tuesday. According to the Gooty police, the driver of the private travel bus lost control when he tried to avoid crashing into a speeding truck coming in the opposite direction. In the process, after the bus driver lost control, the bus veered off the road into the nearby agricultural fields and capsized after toppling over thrice.
Around 30 passengers inside the bus sustained injuries. Passers-by and locals rushed to the rescue of the passengers after noticing the accident. Gooty police also rushed to the accident spot and shifted the injured to the nearest govt hospital through ambulances. Around 10 passengers who required better medical assistance were shifted to the GGH at Anantapur. Gooty police registered a case and are further investigating.
