Jagan aide quits RS, says leaving politics because he 'can't tell lies'

V Vijaysai Reddy, close aide of Andhra Pradesh ex-chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, resigned from Rajya Sabha and cited his inability to tell lies as the reason. He also announced his plan to exit YSRCP and pursue farming and guest lectures, denying any disputes or the Kakinada seaport issue as reasons.

VIJAYAWADA: Sticking to his announcement on Friday, V Vijaysai Reddy, a close aide of Andhra Pradesh ex-chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, quit Rajya Sabha on Saturday, submitting his resignation letter to Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who accepted it.Saying that he was quitting politics because he cannot tell lies, Reddy told reporters that he would resign from the primary membership of YSRCP on Sunday. Reiterating that the reasons for his resignation are personal, Reddy said he would like to pursue farming and deliver guest lectures. He denied reports suggesting that the Kakinada seaport issue was the cause of his resignation.Reddy mentioned that he had discussed his decision with Jagan. "I have cordial relations with Jagan Mohan Reddy's family for three generations, and I have never had any disputes with them. Jagan Mohan Reddy's popularity will not diminish even if a thousand people like me leave the party," he said.
