Tirupati: Amidst the ongoing tussle between the ruling TDP and the YSRCP over ghee supply contracts awarded to Maharashtra-based Indapur Dairy, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (
TTD) chairman BR Naidu intervened once again, clarifying that Heritage Foods has never supplied ghee to the Tirupati trust, either directly or indirectly.
In a press release, Naidu alleged that YSRCP, which was desperate to divert the people's attention from its involvement in the supply of adulterated ghee to the Tirupati trust during its regime, was trying to mislead the people by trying to link Indapur Dairy to Heritage Foods. "The YSRCP unleashed false propaganda by trying to repeat the same lies. It was unfortunate to see a senior politician like Botcha Satyanarayana also trying to mislead the people by displaying a packet of cheese while the whole controversy is about ghee," Naidu remarked.

The TTD chief also dismissed numerous accusations made by the YSRCP leaders regarding the prices at which the Tirupati trust procured ghee ever since the TDP regime began in the state in 2024. "The first and foremost thing which the newly constituted trust board focused its attention on was to improve the quality of the sacred Tirupati Laddus and other Annaprasadams at the Tirumala temple. We revised procurement guidelines in the trust board meeting accordingly and procured the best ingredients at the right prices.
The significant improvement in the quality and taste of the Tirupati Laddus and other Annaprasadams is in itself a testimony to our commitment," BR Naidu asserted.
Naidu further underlined that the TTD trust board will never compromise on the quality of the ingredients on the pretext of prices, in order to ensure that the best Naivedyams are offered to Lord Venkateswara and then distributed as prasadams to the devotees visiting the temple.
