AP revenue minister assures transparent land resurvey
Vijayawada: Revenue minister Anagani Satyaprasad assured the legislative assembly that the comprehensive resurvey of land records will be completed in a transparent and fool-proof manner to prevent legal disputes. Responding to a query from TDP legislator Gali Bhanu Prakash during Question Hour on Thursday, the minister said the govt has already completed the resurvey in 39 percent of villages, covering 27% of the total land.Satyaprasad explained that the state is implementing Re-Survey 2.0 systematically to rectify errors committed during the previous regime. He noted that the earlier exercise was carried out hastily, leading to discrepancies and confusion among landowners. Villagers lodged a large number of complaints over inaccuracies in land extent and records.

"During the previous regime, the re-survey was conducted in a hurried manner, resulting in numerous mistakes. During gram sabhas alone, we received 2.79 lakh complaints related to the re-survey. We resolved 98% of the issues pertaining to extent variations," the minister said.He added that apart from gram sabha complaints, about 7.5 lakh issues were recorded through Joint Land Parcel Maps (Joint LPMs), of which 2.98 lakh grievances have already been addressed.
The coalition govt, he said, is taking corrective measures to ensure transparency and accuracy in land records.Highlighting progress, Satyaprasad informed the House that 19 lakh pattadar passbooks have been distributed across the state, with another 14 lakh to be issued once the resurvey is fully completed. "Unlike the previous govt, which allocated only 135 days for the exercise, we are carrying it out over 223 days to ensure accuracy and avoid further errors," he said.Updating on field-level implementation, the minister said the resurvey has been completed in 7,926 villages, while work is underway in another 2,998. He reiterated that the objective of the revised exercise is to create error-free land records, safeguard farmers' interests, and bring greater clarity to property documentation across the state.
