Varanasi: Sarnath police on Sunday arrested three thieves for stealing cash worth Rs 10 lakhs, 24 silver coins and other valuables from the flat of a hatchery owner Sanjay Srivastava in an apartment of Mavaiyya area on June 25. Inspector Sarnath Arjun Singh said that after going through 150 CCTV footages police succeeded in identifying the thieves. On the tip off arrested thieves police recovered cash Rs 8.70 lakhs and silver coins.
EOW nabs two in embezzlement case: The Varanasi unit of Economic Offence Wingh of police on Sunday arrested a contractor Raju Chaurasia of Ishwargangi in Varanasi and Parmen Shah of Ghazipur in a case of embezzlement. The duo had embezzled several crores rupees in many development projects of government by maintaining nexus with the officials of Rajkiya Nirman Nigam officials, said inspector Sunil Kumar Verma. tnn
