Laser therapy workshop at IMS-BHU focuses on benign anal diseases

Varanasi: A two-day live surgical workshop on laser therapy for benign anal diseases and varicose veins, organised at the National Resource Center for Ano-Rectal Diseases in the Ayurveda Faculty Wing of the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, concluded on Saturday.
Organising secretary, Dr Arun Kumar Dwivedi, said that this workshop was held for the first time in the Ayurveda faculty. The workshop featured experts from various states of the country presenting their research papers. The live demonstration surgeries focused on anal diseases. Prof S K Tiwari from surgery department performed a live surgical demonstration on benign anal diseases and varicose veins.
The inaugural session was attended by many distinguished doctors, including the director of Institute of Medical Sciences, Prof S N Shankhwar, dean of Ayurveda faculty, Prof P K Goswami, and medical superintendent Prof Kailash Kumar.
Many scholars, including Prof Manoranjan Sahu, Dr Yogesh Mishra, Dr Awadhesh Kumar Pandey, Prof Lakshman Singh, Prof Mumtaz Ansari, Dr A K Dwivedi, Prof J.S. Tripathi, and Prof Rahul Sherkhane, shared their thoughts on the occasion.
