Varanasi: In charges of Bhelupur and Lohta police stations were attached to police lines on Saturday night by the police commissioner Mohit Agrawal.
While reviewing the performance of officials in charge of police stations in the district during crime meeting on late Saturday evening, Agrawal ordered removal of Bhelupur police station in charge Sudhir Kumar Tripathi and Lohta police station in charge Rajbahadur Maurya for “dissatisfactory performance”.
Making it clear that now only those who succeed in performing with excellence in effective crime control and swift resolution of public grievances will continue to hold the post of station in charge, Durga Singh and Digambar Upadhyaya were given the charge of Bhelupur and Lohta police stations, respectively. Sadhuvan Ram from Kapsethi was sent to Cholapur and Vikas Kumar Maurya was appointed as station officer Kapsethi.
At the meeting, the police commissioner issued comprehensive guidelines to make police system more effective, accountable and people-oriented. Emphasis was laid on swift resolution of previously pending problems of personnel, priority hearing of new issues, and ensuring prompt action on NPS, housing, basic amenities and employee welfare-related matters.
