‘Had Great Difficulty’: Stranded Indian Fishermen In Iran Return Home Via Armenia

Union Minister Piyush Goyal received Indian fishermen evacuated from Iran at Chennai International Airport, following coordinated rescue efforts amid the ongoing conflict. The fishermen thanked the Indian government and embassies for ensuring their safety and return via Armenia. Hundreds of fishermen, mainly from Tamil Nadu and also from Gujarat, Kerala, and Puducherry, were brought back in multiple batches. S. Jaishankar acknowledged Armenia’s support and thanked Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan for facilitating the evacuation. The operation underscored India’s efforts to protect its citizens abroad during times of crisis.
