BJP celebrates landslide victory in assembly polls

Varanasi: With an atmosphere adorned with victory banners, crowds swaying with waves of jubilation, and Rohania reverberating with victory chants, BJP workers celebrated the party's landslide victory in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry on Monday.

The BJP workers fed each other sweets, while the earthy aroma of jhalmuri added a unique Bengali flavour to the celebrations. This confluence of joy, felicitation and festivity continued late into the evening.



Regional president Dilip Patel congratulated the workers and said that this historic victory is the result of the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the astute strategy of Union home minister Amit Shah, and the tireless hard work of the workers. He said that the people of West Bengal have sounded the bugle of change and the record voter turnout is living proof of this public faith. He said that Bengal, the land of worship of Matrishakti, will now witness a new dawn of development, security and dignity.

Expressing joy over the historic results of the West Bengal legislative assembly elections, Veena Pandey, former member, legislative council, UP, termed it a great victory for democracy. She said that this victory is not merely the win of a single party, but the victory of Bengal’s identity, culture and aspirations for progress.

National president of Indian Economic Association, Prof Aadya Prasad Pandey said that the results of the West Bengal legislative assembly elections are not merely indicative of a political change of power, but are a victory of Bengal’s great culture, identity and new aspirations for progress. This victory is dedicated to the unwavering courage and sacrifice of thousands of workers who kept the lamp of democracy burning even amid an atmosphere of violence and fear. Bengal will now enter a new era of developmentalism, good governance and peace.
