Water supply in Vadodara to be hit

Vadodara: Water supply to Vadodara city will be hit due to the flooding in Mahi river. Supply from the French wells of the civic body in the river as well as the water supply project in Sindhrot which draws water from the river will be affected.
The supply from Sindhrot was affected as the approach road to the water supply project was submerged under water.The power supply in the area was discontinued as a precautionary measure.
In-charge additional city engineer (waterworks) Amrut Makwana said that the water in the river had started receding around Sindhrot on Monday. It was expected that the project would resume operations in the night, he said.
Water supply from two French wells located at Raika and Dodka was also affected due to flood in Mahi river. tnn

Residents block road over water supply
Residents of Agrahara Samakulam in Coimbatore staged a protest, blocking a road, due to the lack of drinking water supply in their area for over a month. The issue began when a pipeline used for supplying water broke, and even after repairs, the water was not pumped to the overhead tank. The protesters dispersed after authorities assured them that the problem would be resolved.
