Vadodara: Two years after he went missing, the police nabbed builder Jayesh Patel in connection with the cheating cases filed against him. Patel was nabbed from the Mumbai airport on Monday when he was trying to flee the country.
“We have got custody of Patel. He had been on the run for two years during which he kept changing his hideout locations. Patel was trying to escape to the US when he was apprehended at the airport. A lookout notice was issued against him,” said a police official. Patel, who owned the Star Residency scheme in Bhyali, has over 18 offences of cheating registered against him in different police stations in the city.
The police said that Patel had floated a residential scheme of flats but he never gave possession of the houses and instead disappeared two years ago. The police said that many similar complaints have been filed against the accused. TNN
