Voter slip distribution underway in Thanjavur

Thanjavur: With the Tamil Nadu assembly elections scheduled for April 23, distribution of voter information slips is underway across Thanjavur district.District election officer and collector Priyanka Pankajam on Wednesday inspected the door-to-door distribution in the Municipal Colony area under the Thanjavur assembly constituency. The exercise is being carried out by booth-level officers (BLOs) as part of Election Commission preparations. The slips carry key details, including the voter's name, EPIC number, constituency, part and serial numbers, and polling station. Officials said the initiative aims to streamline access to polling information and reduce confusion on election day. The slip will not be accepted as valid identity proof, and voters must carry one of the prescribed ID documents to cast their vote. Officials said steps have been taken to ensure all eligible voters receive the slip ahead of polling day.
