Trichy: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor-politician Vijay is expected to file his nomination papers to contest in Trichy East Assembly segment on April 2.
Sources said that after submitting his papers, Vijay is likely to campaign from his vehicle at two different locations in the city. While one spot has been finalised at Marakkadai junction, from where the actor-politician commenced his election campaign last year, the party is also planning to conduct a campaign in another location, likely near Trichy airport, such as KK Nagar and Wireless Road.

TVK's chief coordinator K A Sengottaiyan, Lalgudi TVK candidate and former minister Ku Pa Krishnan, and Trichy East constituency TVK in-charge Kudamurutti Karikalan approached Trichy city police and election dept officials on Tuesday to seek permission.
TVK sources said that Vijay will file his nomination papers before Trichy East constituency's returning officer Muthu Murugesa Pandiyan at Ariyamangalam zonal office of Trichy corporation at around 12.30pm. Subsequently, he is expected to reach Marakkadai junction MGR statue for campaign.
TVK sources said that they initially planned eight different locations for Vijay's campaign and narrowed down to two.
"We have requested our leader's campaign at Lalgudi constituency too, but travelling on road from Trichy city amid fans and cadres is a big challenge. We will finalise campaign locations and timings by Wednesday," Krishnan told TOI.
