Two including minor arrested for burglary in Thillai Nagar

Trichy: Two youths, including a juvenile, were arrested in Trichy for breaking into a house in Thillai Nagar and stealing silver statues and other valuables. The burglary occurred while the homeowner and caretaker were away.The homeowner lives abroad, and her son-in-law, S Sudharsan, 51, from Thiruverumbur, manages the property. On Oct 9, Sudharsan locked the house and left; he discovered the theft on Saturday evening. Missing items included two silver idols, six silver coins, and a silver dollar. Thillai Nagar police registered a case under sections 331(4) (trespass) and 305(a) (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. CCTV footage identified the suspects as K Vijayaraj, 19, and a 17-year-old, both from Cauvery Nagar near Mutharasanalur. Vijayaraj was remanded to judicial custody, while the juvenile was sent to an observation home by the Juvenile Justice Board. The police recovered the stolen items and returned them to the caretaker.
