Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iran welcome restraint in Pak-Afghan conflict
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Iran have responded to the recent border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, urging both sides to show restraint and resolve their differences through dialogue, according to Tolo News. All three nations expressed support for regional and international efforts aimed at fostering peace and stability.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for diplomacy to prevent further escalation, while Iran offered to mediate in order to ease tensions between the neighbouring Muslim countries.
Political analyst Sayed Qaribullah Sadat emphasised the need for mutual understanding, warning that continued conflict would harm all involved. Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, confirmed that hostilities were paused following requests from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, but warned that any further Pakistani attacks would prompt a response.
