Sheds put up for poll work with EC nod: Senthilbalaji
Karur: Dismissing allegations by the opposition that sheds were erected in Karur to confine and bribe voters, DMK MLA V Senthilbalaji said on Sunday that these structures were solely meant for election-related work, and set up with election commission's permission."There is no ‘Erode formula' or ‘Karur formula'. These offices have been established on private land with the approval of Election Commission. They serve as designated workspaces where our booth-level agents (BLA-2s), booth-level coordinators (BLCs), and other DMK functionaries can sit together and carry out their election duties," the former minister told reporters in Karur. He said the AIADMK-BJP alliance was making such claims due to lack of support. "They do not have public support or sufficient cadre strength to carry out election work. Even if an office comes up, they have no workers who can sit inside," he added.Claiming that the AIADMK-BJP alliance would face a big defeat in all four constituencies in Karur, he said, "This alliance has been rejected by the people. Like the CM says, the contest is between ‘Tamil Nadu team' and ‘Delhi team.' Over the past five years, the DMK govt has implemented development projects worth ₹5,000 crore in Karur," he said.
