Trichy: Coordinator of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK),
Seeman, condemned those who distribute cash and gift items for votes, and said such people do not care about the country or the people's future. He also criticised Vijay's party TVK for joining DMK and AIADMK in announcing freebies in its manifesto.
Speaking in Mayiladuthurai on Thursday, Seeman said, "For them, only your vote matters, not your progress. Anyone focused only on votes will never think about the nation."
He added that those who loot lakhs of crores from the country and then distribute money during elections are buying the self-respect of the people. Seeman said, "The government shows more concern for protecting liquor shops than for safeguarding people's livelihood."
Seeman highlighted Naam Tamilar Katchi's growth, saying that in its first election, NTK secured 4.5 lakh votes. In later elections, it grew to 18 lakh and then 30 lakh votes. He said, "People have now recognised it as the third largest party in Tamil Nadu and a strong alternative to DMK and AIADMK."
Campaigning in Nagapattinam, Seeman criticised political parties for deceiving people with money for votes and freebies. "We do not want a politics that enslaves people through freebies," he said.
Seeman took a dig at TVK for announcing free schemes in its manifesto. "Like DMK and AIADMK, TVK is also announcing free schemes. But I promise not only to provide education, healthcare, and drinking water free of cost, but also to ensure everything is delivered with quality and integrity," he stated.
