Pocso case convict dies at Trichy GH

Trichy: A 72-year-old convict in a Pocso case has succumbed to illness at Trichy MGMGH on Saturday. Police identified the deceased as V Kannaiyan from Tholurpatti near Thottiyam in Trichy district. Kannaiyan was sentenced to undergo 20 years of imprisonment in a Pocso case. He was lodged in Trichy Central prison in Jan this year. On Friday, Kannaiyan suffered breathing trouble and was admitted to Trichy GH. He succumbed to illness on Saturday. Police registered a case. The body was handed over to his family members.
