History-sheeter hacked to death near Thiruverumbur
Trichy: A 24-year-old history-sheeter was hacked to death by an unidentified gang near Thiruverumbur in Trichy district late on Saturday night. Police suspect personal enmity linked to an alleged affair with a woman must’ve led to the murder.
The deceased, M Badushah, was a resident of Bharathiyar street in Ariyamangalam and had several criminal cases pending against him. His mutilated body was found in Kamarajar Nagar near Kattur oil mill check-post on Sunday morning. According to police, a gang of three intercepted Badhusha and attacked him with sickles before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Residents alerted police on noticing the body lying in a pool of blood.
District superintendent of police Dongre Praveen Umesh conducted an inspection at the site. Thiruverumbur police sent the body to Mahatma Gandhi memorial govt hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a murder case and launched a search for the assailants.
Investigators are probing multiple angles, including previous disputes, local rivalries and a possible conflict involving a woman. The suspected accused are M Suriya, K Kumar, E Prasanth, all from Ariyamangalam. Police said Badhusha was in a relationship with Suriya’s sister. In September last year, he was attacked in this connection, but the relationship continued.
