Four held for selling ganja to minors

Trichy: Four men were arrested in Trichy on Tuesday for peddling ganja to minors. Police seized 100g of contraband and a motorcycle from them. Based on a tip, a police team apprehended a group of four people roaming near a school in Ponmalaipatti. Upon checking them, police found the contraband with them. The arrested were S Palanivel, 20, S Deepak, 21, and P Arjun, 19, from Musiri, and A Sathish, 21 from Thuraiyur.Golden Rock police registered a case against them under Section 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(A) and Section 25 of the NDPS Act for possession of psychotropic substances, along with Section 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act for selling narcotics to children. The accused were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. Further investigation is on.
