Pudukkottai: Deputy chief minister
Udhayanidhi Stalin on Sunday doubled down on his attack on
AIADMK general secretary
Edappadi K Palaniswami and the AIADMK-BJP alliance, alleging that AIADMK had "surrendered" to BJP.
Campaigning across Pudukkottai district, Udhayanidhi addressed meetings at Viralimalai, Pudukkottai, Alangudi and Thirumayam constituencies.
At Viralimalai, displaying a picture of EPS falling on V K Sasikala's feet, he said the constituency's victory was "more important than any other," including his own. Targeting former minister and MLA C Vijayabaskar, he accused him of "putting on a theatrical performance" during elections and alleged links to illegal activities.
Udhayanidhi said BJP had forged alliances by using central agencies to pressure regional parties. "We must not allow BJP to gain a foothold in Tamil Nadu," he said. Highlighting welfare measures of the DMK govt, he said laptops were distributed to 10 lakh students and promised to extend it to 35 lakh students if re-elected. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah, he said the Centre had failed to deliver welfare schemes to Tamil Nadu.
