Trichy: BJP state general secretary Karuppu Muruganandham and senior party functionaries on Thursday inspected four locations in and around Trichy ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit on March 11."PM Modi will tour Tamil Nadu and meet people in three different locations in the state before March 11 to bring a change of guard in the state government. We inspected three to four locations. State president Nainar Nagenthran and Union minister L Murugan, in consultation with our alliance party leaders, will finalise a location," Muruganandham said.

Party sources said the team inspected open grounds at G Corner on the Trichy–Chennai national highway, Panjapur on the Trichy–Madurai highway, Kumbakudi–Mathur on the Trichy–Pudukottai highway, and Suriyur on the Trichy semi-ring road. AMMK functionaries accompanied the BJP leaders. The BJP said the Prime Minister will address a public meeting in Madurai on March 1 and in Vellore on March 7. "Location suitable enough to host lakhs of cadres will be finalised to commence work as early as possible. As per the plan, the PM is scheduled to visit Trichy. But we have requested the high command to consider hosting the event in Thanjavur as he visited Trichy frequently in recent months. During the election, he may visit Thanjavur," Muruganandham added.
