Thiruvananthapuram: Union minister of state George Kurian inaugurated ‘Meet the Leader' programme launched by BJP state unit on Wednesday. Under this programme, central ministers, BJP MPs and party leaders will interact with the public at Mararji Bhavan, BJP's state headquarters.
Inaugurating the programme, Kurian urged BJP activists to ensure that central govt programmes, especially welfare schemes, reach the public. BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the programme's objective was to bring Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development initiatives to places where they hadn't reached. "Meet the Leader programme will be held every Wednesday. BJP is trying to resolve public issues directly," said Chandrasekhar.
Meanwhile, AISF former state secretary Arun Babu, SFI former secretary and senate member Prabhat G Panicker, along with several professionals and former functionaries of CPM and Congress, joined BJP at Mararji Bhavan on Wednesday. Chandrasekhar welcomed them to the party by draping them in shawls.
