Mid-term ISOT conference: Award for Dr Noble Gracious
T'puram: At 2026 Mid-Term Conference organized by Indian Society of Organ Transplantation (ISOT) in Bangalore, Dr Noble Gracious, executive director of K-SOTTO, received an award for his oral paper presentation. He was honoured for his presentation related to topics associated with K-SOTTO. The conference took place in Bangalore on May 2 and 3, focusing on the theme ‘Infections and Transplantation'.Dr Gracious presented three papers on various organ donation topics. These included a study on estimating waitlist mortality in Kerala's organ transplantation programme using person-time and survival analysis methods, perspectives of empanelled doctors on brain-stem death certification through a cross-sectional survey from Kerala, and the impact of IEC activities on public attitude towards deceased organ donation based on 2025 data from Kerala. The award was presented by ISOT president Dr Sanjay Kolte and secretary Dr Manish Balwani at the event, which was attended by leading organ transplant experts and doctors from across the country. This recognition is a significant acknowledgement of the excellent work and research conducted by K-SOTTO in the field of organ donation in Kerala.
